I have me one busy weekend so I took today to veg out. I played a video game, surfed the net, watched a little TV - you know... the usual. And I also went for a walk in preparation for the big "race" on Sunday. It feels funny to keep calling it a race but I guess that's what it is. I however will only be competing against myself. Anyway, as it turns out I live a few blocks from the halfway point of the Wharf to Wharf race so I am fortunate that part of my training has been to actually walk stretches of road that people from all over the country are flying in to walk/run.
Today I kicked it up a notch: I walked from home all the way to the Santa Cruz Wharf and back. Near as i can figure - that's just about 6 miles roundtrip which means that's just about the length of the race which means I can totally do this or rather - I already have.
The only thing that may weigh me down a bit is jet lag and good old-fashioned fatigue. Ace and I are headed to San Diego for ye olde Comic-Con - just for the day mind you - flying down and flying back! We're there to check out a few panels and roam the dealer floor in search of pop-culture goo-gaws and free schwag bags. It promises to be a whirlwind adventure and I am sure we'll be exhausted come tomorrow night.
Then Sunday I get to get my ass up at an ungodly hour for the second day in a row and go walk six miles. And then go to work. Sweet, huh?
I'm pretty excited about it, actually.

You are the most bizarre man. But at least, you are unique!
I'm cheering for you, from Seattle. Rock it!
