Write Away

I've been listening to David Sedaris on audiobook recently and hearing his stories make me want to write my own stories that have interest, humor and an appeal to others. Unfortunately for you, that means putting up with a lot of futile attempts at being interesting, humorous and appealing.

Sure anyone can start a blog and share their latest dinner recipes with their loyal 12 readers (oh to have TWELVE readers...) but it takes a genuine talent to gain a following with an engaging story that readers can enjoy.

I know some of you bloggers out there are particularly good at this. Some of you even write every day. Some of you just write your blog on the side between waiting for your book deals to go through and checking to see which magazines accepted your freelance gigs.

Not that I'm jealous. It just seems like a lot of work. If I liked writing more, maybe I'd try making some money at it, too. I did get paid a couple of times for some work I had done for a magazine, but for me the experience was like getting paid to do someone elses homework assignment.

So until I write enough to get my own book deal or dare to think myself worthy of a freelance submission once again, I'll be here plugging away at the keyboard with those dinner recipes for you, my loyal 12 readers... (it'll be 12 soon, i can feel it!)

what recipes!? ;)

just write. then write some more. and don't try to make it perfectly funny or funnily perfect. just being you is enough.

i know that funnily isn't a word.
